Writing a Will
Writing a Will is one of the most important things a person can do. In the case of the unexpected then it is reassuring to know that all your wishes can be carried out as you would like.
Unless you write a Will, you cannot guarantee that your belongings will be distributed as you wish when you die. A relatively high number of individuals do not have a Will and die without making sure that those whom they wish to benefit or exclude from their estate after their death do so.
Consequently, many unnecessary complications arise, adding to the grief of family and friends and the expense of winding up the deceased person's estate. If you die without writing a Will the law provides who will receive your possessions. If you are married and die intestate, it is a common misconception that the surviving spouse inherits everything. This is not always the case and depends on the size of the estate; brothers and sisters and parents may make a claim. If you are not married but living with your partner and die intestate, your partner may receive nothing. Writing a Will can also help minimise tax liabilities and of course allows you to decide just who will administer your estate.
We handle all cases in a sympathetic and sensitive manner.
